Overall7.7/10Easier to get around than about 75% of cities

Good to Know

  • Minibuses operate until late at night.
  • The taxi meter shows the fare you need to pay appropriate to the distance you travel. As Marmaris has a better public transport system, it is good that you make use of this system. Moreover, taxi services are expensive in this resort town!
  • Especially during high season, card payments save time and remove the need for small change.
  • Scooter rental prices include unlimited mileage, theft insurance, damage insurance and a VAT of 18%.
  • Dolmus payment: cash preferred, but many now accept contactless cards. Always check the fare posted above the driver's seat before boarding.

Taxis

Payment
Despite the fact that taxis are equipped with meters, before you get into a taxi, be sure to check the price.
Availability
Taxis are available 24/7 and are ideal for short distances.

Rideshare

Uber
Uber is readily available in Istanbul, Bodrum, Marmaris and Cesme. However, in most areas outside of Istanbul, you might find it hard to hail a cab due to the unavailability of cars even though the app functions. Uber works in major cities, but it generally functions as Uber Taxi (booking licensed taxis through the app), not private-car rideshare.

Water Taxi

Note
Operates seasonally in the summer months.
Description
In summer, water taxis are especially popular for scenic coastal travel. Departure points include Marmaris Marina, Netsel Marina, and İçmeler Beach. Water taxis operate from 09:00 to 20:00, with fixed per-person fares.
