Good to know
Good to Know
- BTC City / Citypark is the go-to option for a full Western-style mall experience, but it's about 3 km from the historic centre — plan on a bus or taxi, not a walk.
- The Old Town streets (Mestni trg, Stari trg, Gornji trg, Čopova, Trubarjeva) are all walkable from one another and better for browsing local design, souvenirs and independent boutiques than for high-volume shopping.
- If you're a non-EU visitor, keep receipts and look for 'Tax Free' stickers — the minimum single-receipt spend to qualify for a VAT refund is €50.
- BTC City shops generally run Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–8 PM, with some fashion stores (Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius) open later and also on Sunday.
- There's no Apple-owned retail store in Ljubljana or anywhere in Slovenia — for genuine Apple Store-style service, the closest real options are Apple Stores in Italy or Austria; locally you'll be using an Authorized Reseller/Service Provider instead.
- For quick, central errands (buying accessories, checking on a repair), EPL at Kongresni trg is the most walkable option from the city center.
- For the fullest in-person Apple retail experience (browsing full product range, Genius-style support), iSTYLE's stores are the biggest, but they're in BTC City or Aleja shopping centers, a bus or short drive from the center rather than downtown.
- For everyday online shopping, Mimovrste.si and Enaa.com are the most trusted domestic platforms with generally reliable delivery; Amazon works fine but usually ships from Germany rather than a local warehouse, so factor in a few extra delivery days.
- Bolha.com is Slovenia's classifieds site (like a local Craigslist) — useful for secondhand electronics and furniture but not a substitute for a retailer with warranty backing.
Online Shopping Platforms
- Caveats
- Cross-border orders from non-EU platforms (e.g., AliExpress, non-EU Amazon marketplaces) can face customs delays and import VAT/duties that local EU-based orders don't incur.
- Delivery Reliability
- Slovenia's e-commerce market is mature relative to its population (around 60% of the population shops online), supported by well-established domestic couriers (Pošta Slovenije, GLS, DPD) and next-day or 48-72 hour delivery windows quoted by major electronics resellers for in-stock items.
- International Platforms
- Amazon, eBay, Zalando, and AliExpress are all commonly used by Slovenian shoppers, though there is no dedicated Amazon.si storefront — orders typically route through Amazon.de or another EU Amazon site, with EU-standard customs treatment.
Major Local Platforms
- Mimovrste.si — Slovenia's largest all-round online store (electronics, appliances, fashion), noted for competitive pricing and reliable delivery
- Enaa.com — one of Slovenia's oldest online stores, seen as a reliable platform for tech, books, and household goods
- BigBang.si — major electronics-focused retailer
- Merkur.si — DIY/home improvement
- Bolha.com — classifieds/marketplace (mainly used goods, closer to Craigslist than a retailer)

Its stores are located in shopping centers (BTC City, Aleja) roughly 15-20 minutes from the historic center by bus/car rather than in the walkable core, so it's the go-to for a full Apple retail/service experience but not a center-of-town option.

Repair Service Notes
Authorized Service Providers in Ljubljana (EPL, iSTYLE, and independent shops like Pro23) handle warranty and out-of-warranty repairs using Apple-sanctioned parts and procedures, per Apple's own Slovenia warranty terms, which specify that Apple Authorized Service Providers, Apple resellers, and Apple-owned stores are the designated service channels in-country. Some independent, non-Apple-affiliated repair shops (e.g., PRO Servis, which has since merged into the iSTYLE brand) have also operated in the city.
Apple Official Presence
Slovenia has no Apple-owned retail store (no true 'Apple Store'). Apple's own site directs Slovenian customers to authorized resellers and service providers throughout the country rather than a company-owned location.
