Good to Know
- Andorra Telecom is the only ISP and mobile operator—no alternatives for home broadband or local SIM. EU roaming rules do not apply in Andorra; buy a local SIM or e-SIM before arrival to avoid expensive roaming charges.
- Fiber is available in all parishes, including remote areas, making Andorra well-suited for remote workers. Entry-level broadband starts at €25/month and fiber is symmetrical (equal upload/download).
- For mobile, e-SIM is often better value than local prepaid SIM for short stays; international travel e-SIM providers offer starting plans from ~$4, while Andorra Telecom prepaid SIMs cost €15–20.
- 4G coverage reaches 98% of the territory, even hiking areas in the Pyrenees. 5G is rolling out from parish centers outward but not yet universally available.
- If fiber is cut (historically rare but occurred in 2021 storm and via external Spain link accident), the entire nation can be affected; satellite internet (Starlink) is available as a backup option for businesses.
- Latency is very low (~15 ms) due to fiber infrastructure and small geographic footprint, making Andorra ideal for video conferencing, live streaming, and time-sensitive work.

Connectivity Reliability Tier
Very high
Connectivity Reliability Tier Rationale
Near-universal fiber-optic coverage (nearly 100% household access), 98% 4G mobile coverage, 5G rollout underway, low latency (~15 ms), and consistent real-world speeds (~212 Mbps) support reliable remote work, though single cross-border fiber link to Spain presents a single-point-of-failure risk.
