Shopping in Peniche

• Peniche is a small fishing-and-surf town and does not have a large-scale modern shopping mall of its own — its 'shopping centers' (São Pedro, Ataíde galleries, Rossio) are small, local, multi-shop buildings rather than big-box or department-store-anchored malls.
• If you want a full-scale mall experience (international fashion chains, food courts, cinema), the nearest real options are outside Peniche — e.g., La Vie in Caldas da Rainha (~35 km) — so treat that as a day-trip rather than something walkable from the center.
• A previously listed 'BEST Shopping' center on Avenida do Porto de Pesca appears to be permanently closed, so don't rely on older directory listings that still show it as active.
• The most pleasant shopping is simply walking the old-town streets between Largo 5 de Outubro and the Garden Square, where small independent and traditional shops are concentrated within a compact, walkable core.
• There is no Apple Store in Peniche or anywhere in Portugal — for hands-on Apple purchases or in-person repairs you're looking at an Authorized Reseller/Service Provider in greater Lisbon, roughly 1–1.5 hours away by car.
• For online orders, Amazon.es (Spain) tends to be the most reliable and cost-effective Amazon option for Peniche compared to Amazon UK, US, or Germany, since it's EU-based (no customs) and geographically closest.
• The retailer usually isn't the problem with online shopping in Portugal — courier delivery (especially GLS) is the most commonly reported weak point, so build in a buffer if you need something time-sensitive.
