Good to Know

• Mykonos has a severe taxi shortage during peak season (June–September); expect 30–60 minute waits at airport. Pre-book a transfer if arriving in high season.
• KTEL buses accept cash only; carry small bills as drivers often lack change.
• Motor vehicles are banned in Mykonos Town (Chora); walk or use public transport within town.
• The New Port (Tourlos) and Old Port are separate; confirm your ferry departure point before boarding. New Port ~2 km north of town for inter-island ferries; Old Port in town for Delos excursions.
• If continuing to other Cyclades islands after arrival, book ferry tickets in advance (especially July–August).
• Delos day trip requires a full round-trip ferry booking; no overnight accommodation exists on the island.
• Airport bus operates early morning–late evening only (roughly 9:15 AM–10:15 PM); late or early arrivals may need taxi or transfer.
• Summer ferries run to Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Tinos, Syros, and Crete; winter service is significantly reduced to mainly Athens connections.
• No car rental desks at airport arrivals (only in nearby all-users area); consider picking up the next day from town to avoid post-flight hassle.
