• Kavos is on Corfu's southernmost tip, roughly 40 km from the main airport—plan at least 1 hour travel time from arrival to accommodation.
• Bus service is frequent but timetables change 3-4 times per year (seasonality); pick up a printed schedule at the KTEL station rather than relying on online sources.
• Buses on Corfu can run late; allow 20+ minutes buffer beyond official schedule, especially from secondary stops like Sidari.
• If using public buses, carry cash for on-board purchases (card payment available at stations but not always on buses).
• Taxis are available 24/7 but negotiate or confirm metered rate beforehand; surge pricing occurs during peak arrival times (10:00–14:00).
• Lefkimmi port (just north of Kavos) is the nearest ferry hub for mainland crossings to Igoumenitsa; most popular ferry routes depart from Corfu Town port (45–50 minutes drive from Kavos).
• Boat day-trips to Paxos and nearby attractions are abundant and reasonably priced (€35 range); book in advance during July–August.
• Vehicle access to Kavos town center is restricted; taxis and transfers drop passengers near the pedestrian area.
• No direct train service exists on Corfu—all inter-island and mainland transport relies on bus, ferry, or private car.
