• December to March is the dry season with comfortable temperatures (22–26°C (72–79°F)) and virtually no rain—ideal for outdoor activities.
• Typhoon season runs roughly June through September; direct hits are not guaranteed but can disrupt travel for several days when they occur.
• August is the absolute wettest month with heavy afternoon downpours (407 mm average) and high humidity (83.91% relative humidity).
• Winter (Dec–Feb) in Kaohsiung is significantly milder and drier than northern Taiwan, making it an excellent alternative during Taiwan's cold season.
• Even during summer's intensity, nights cool only slightly—expect 27–28°C (82°F) overnight lows when daytime highs reach 32°C (90°F)+, creating a sticky atmosphere.
• No snowfall ever occurs in Kaohsiung; winter weather is merely cool and pleasant, never cold.
